My name is Frank Perez, and I have been part of the criminal justice system for over twenty-six years. I have distinguished myself as an aggressive and successful defense lawyer.
My prior experience as a former Dallas narcotics detective gives me a tremendous advantage when dealing with drug crimes. I have effectively handled hundreds of both federal and state drug-related charges.

I began my career with the Dallas Police Department in 1982, where I quickly distinguished myself as one of the top law enforcement officers in the country. I also served as an assistant district attorney with Dallas County. This experience has made me very successful in aggressively defending criminal cases by identifying weaknesses that seem to occur in many government cases. His legal career in private practice is supported by prior experience as an Assistant District Attorney for the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office from 1994 to 1995.
Law Enforcement & Public Service
Before transitioning into full-time legal practice, Mr. Perez served with the Dallas Police Department from 1982 to 1994, holding the roles of Police Officer, Sergeant, and Narcotics Detective. During his tenure in law enforcement, he received several notable awards:
- Outstanding Officer Award – Parade Magazine (August 1988), recognizing him as one of only 10 officers nationwide.
- Officer of the Year – City of Dallas (October 1988)
- Law Enforcement Officer of the Year – State of TX (October 1989)
- Officer of the Year – City of Dallas (November 1989)
In 2014, Mr. Perez ran for public office as the Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in the Texas District 32 General Election.
Early Career & Military Service
Mr. Perez’s earlier professional background includes extensive experience in aviation safety. He served as an Air Traffic Controller for the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1976, and later continued his career as an Air Traffic Controller for the Federal Aviation Administration from 1976 to 1981.

JOSE LUIS ALCUDIA
Jose Luis Alcudia is a paralegal and investigator with the Law Office of Frank A. Perez. He assists the firm with case preparation, client communication and day-to-day case coordination.
